In an era of white and gray homes, a bit of brown is part of what attracted buyers to their new home.
“It is on just under two acres of land on Lake Tibet and it was kind of an old architectural European style darker house, but great layout. It also had an RV garage, so it just met my buyers’ needs,” said Michael Stewart with Southern Realty Group. “When you walk in, it actually has such a unique style compared to what you’re seeing in Central Florida. It really has its own personality.”
An individual builder built the six-bedroom and four-bathroom home on Trout Road in 2016 after tearing down what was previously there.

The listing called the 5,625-square-foot home a mix of modern and rustic with wood beams and stone accents. Stewart said it had a bit of a lodge feeling, something there isn’t a lot of in the area.
“There’s a few, but not a lot. [This] house in particular definitely had the darker features. It had the darker granite, very dark cabinetry. [The buyers] will lighten a little bit of that up, but overall, it was exactly what they were looking for,” Stewart told GrowthSpotter. “They looked at the white [houses] and they were definitely more towards that transitional to Tuscan style.”
Listed for $4.2 million in June 2024, the sale recently closed at $3.75 million.

“We had looked at it three times over a six month period, waiting for the price to come down,” Stewart said, adding the buyers lived down the street and kept an eye on the listing.
“They just needed a much bigger home, so they bought this. They bought the first home because it was going to be a second home for them, and now it’s going to be their primary residence,” he explained. “They love the area.”
Public records show the buyers as Ryan and Christy Bredahl and the sellers Mark Phaneuf and Roseann Phaneuf.
Carla Rivera with Carla Rivera Realty represented the sellers.
Outside, there is a large covered area with an outdoor kitchen near the a lagoon-style pool with a rock feature.
“When you walk in, it’s basically a wading entry in and the further you go into the pool, the deeper it gets, so that was very unique in itself,” Stewart explained.
A sunken fire pit is next to the pool and it’s all a short walk to the dock and the lake.

“You are actually looking out over Lake Tibet and you can see the Orlando Eye, which is nice at night. And you get to see Disney fireworks as well, so that’s pretty impressive.”
Stewart said the white and gray style is “quietly going away” and he is seeing others like this one popping up.
“We’re getting ready to list a couple more on the lake and actually they’ve got more of a darker, traditional style,” he said. “I think a few of the sellers are going, ‘oh gosh, you think we’ll sell?’ and I say, ‘I think you’ll sell pretty quickly,’ so we’ll see.”
